Côme Di Meglio

Biography

"My exploration of matter takes shape in the construction of architectures. I draw inspiration from early shelters, caves, and other primitive habitats, as well as chapels. These are all places of survival, protection, sharing, and communion. It is in these architectures that the collective, the community, is born, around the fire and human warmth, through stories."

Côme Di Meglio sees his artistic approach as a spiritual adventure. For Côme, spiritual means our ability to establish relationships with our surroundings. These can be relationships with other living or non-living beings, with the elements, or even with our roots and the ramifications of our actions. Through our senses, emotions, and imagination, it is our propensity to recognize in others, as in all things, a common impulse of life.
Through installation, sculpture, performance, and meals, Côme Di Meglio seeks to experience and share this state of presence, availability, and heightened awareness. He creates spaces and design experiences to inhabit them.
