nysædition explores the sensory and sculptural dimensions of fragrance, creating new ways of storytelling through the design and manufacture of objects, spaces and atmospheres deeply inspired by gardens.
They collaborate with people, brands and places driven by aesthetic, cultural or emotional intentions, whose sensitivity and expertise deserve to be translated into forms and fragrances. Together, we develop coherent olfactory narratives: spaces and objects that embody a story, a rhythm, a landscape.
With their experience in gardening, interior architecture and design, the duo behind nysædition, Charles Guerlain and Marion Saxod, seek to channel the subtle beauty of fragrances through sculptural forms.
Each creation is an encounter between material and fragrance, between gesture and imagination. It is an opportunity to explore how design, nature and emotion can merge to compose environments that are both tangible and poetic.--nysaedition
An unattainable work and inspired staging. Rooted beginnings, their works are inspired by the half-animal/half-plant chimera which has emerged from the barn’s underground and settled into the shaded, cool, and sacred environment of our surrondings. Evocative organic forms, the first fragile sprouts have colonized this new space, offering a mystical scene to be viewed from afar, behind a window, allowing one to appreciate the preciousness of this birth.
Beyond the obvious connection through the shared use of plant fibers, the continuity of thought linking these two works aims to honor the interdependence and relationships between the subterranean world—blind and invisible—and the world of light and visibility, which we know and appreciate more. Non-political works, these proposals nevertheless seek to raise awareness about soil preservation and the value of its inhabitants.
