My work shelters a human silhouette that becomes memory, matter and emotion — a sculpted trace of the sensitive that invites us to feel rather than understand.
-- LARA NABAWY
Her artistic journey began at a very young age, intuitively. Fascinated by the emotional power that a work of art can exert in a space, Lara naturally turned to drawing and painting. Self-taught, she experimented with different techniques over the years, refining her visual language. Her passion was fuelled by her studies in art history and interior design, which opened up new dimensions of visual creation, from spatial composition to the symbolism of forms.

Lara explains that art has transformed the way she perceives the world, leading her to observe her environment with fresh eyes. She finds beauty in overlooked or forgotten things: the play of shadows, the organic patterns of nature, the subtle textures that are barely noticeable. This ability to rediscover the world with an almost childlike curiosity is an essential driving force behind her creative process.

Her multicultural identity plays a central role in her artistic approach. Growing up between several cultures and travelling the world from an early age gave her access to a wealth of aesthetic influences, materials and visual traditions. This constant blending nourishes a unique visual language, rooted in both the intimate and the universal.

Lara Nabawy's work has already gained international recognition. Her works have been exhibited in Geneva, Paris and Milan, and are now featured in numerous private collections in Switzerland, France, Italy, the United States and Saudi Arabia.

Lara confides that art has transformed her way of seeing the world. and to observe more carefully, to rediscover her environment with fresh eyes. She finds beauty in the invisible: the play of shadows, natural patterns, subtle details that we often forget to look at. This ability to see the world with a child's curiosity is at the heart of her creative process.

At the heart of her approach is the exploration of the human silhouette in abstract form. Each form becomes a metaphor, a narrative fragment: a chapter of life, a relationship, or a moment frozen in time. Lara draws inspiration from universal themes such as memory, identity and relationship dynamics to create works imbued with silent emotion. Her work is born from a balance between personal introspection and multiple cultural influences.
